Grounded is the very most special game for me. It is one of the games we play the most online with my father, drags us into a struggle where we are the same size as insects, and we are in a difficult situation as if we were thrown into the wild. In the game, which can play as a team of maximum 4 people, watching your friend’s back and helping each other become the most important virtues.
Experiencing the much more dangerous and fantastical state of the camps we went to in reality with my father in a virtual environment gives a feeling of “survival” simulation.

In Grounded, developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Xbox Game Studios, the music is not intense, but features a complementary background element to the ambient sounds of nature, but in the laboratory sections, the music becomes more pronounced and reflects the sci-fi mood.
Scientists shrink volunteers with a machine and send them to the garden among spiders and ants. But of course, the gardens, which are our safest places in our daily life, turn into a wild and prehistoric jungle when our size shrinks, and a war of survival begins to the death.
Our aim in the game is to return to our old dimension, for this we need to seize the battery necessary to re-run the machine that will enable us to grow. However, this is a very difficult task. We have to reach Doctor Tuli, get past his crazy ex-partner who will be in our way. Reaching the battery, charging it, bringing it back to start the machine… Of course, it is not easy to achieve these things with our ant-sized size, moreover, spiders, fish, insects that wander around to hunt us…

As for the bosses; as you might guess, most are insects, but some are robots. And then there are the robots belonging to the mad scientist. Some are creatures that have gotten out of hand as a result of experiments. If you manage to survive until you encounter the bosses, you can meet these monsters, luckily we are revived when we die. The most enjoyable part of the game is that it constantly gives a feeling of excitement and adventure. According to my mother, we had the opportunity to remember our instincts in the wild and experience our fight-flight-freeze reactions.

The most important part of this game for me is playing with my father. Thanks to this game, my father and I protected each other, we experienced sharing tasks and determining responsibilities in difficult situations. We got out of difficult situations, as if we were really experiencing danger. We found our lost items for each other. We provided the other’s water and food. When we got hurt, we helped each other. I can say that thirst is very difficult and our long water searches together, discovering how to learn how to make a water canteen and saving my father… This game is like an invaluable gift for fathers and children. It provides a lot of experience to have with the parent you miss no matter how far away they are… Games are sometimes important life experiences if played right, really!
